Practice Announces Support For Local Charity
The team at Frome Medical Practice has chosen local charity Fair Frome as their new charity to support. The decision was made after all the team were invited to nominate their favourite charities and staff then voted on which they wanted to support for the next two years.
Fair Frome provides various services to the local community, including food, furniture and baby basics banks, a community pantry and a hot meals service. The charity works with local supermarkets, food producers, community groups and other food initiatives in Frome, with the aim of creating a sustainable and inclusive food network.
One of the Frome Medical Practice Charity Champions, Kevin Sivell, said “We are delighted to be working with Fair Frome as our Charity of the Year. As an organisation that refers people to the food bank we know how valuable their services are and hopefully we can support what they are doing, by fundraising and raising awareness about the work they do and the support they need, with our team and our patients.”
Lenka Grimes, Fair Frome Coordinator, said, “Fair Frome is delighted to be the nominated charity for Frome Medical Practice for 2024 and 2025. The practice has an established history of working with local charities and their support at this time will make a real difference. As an organisation we share similar values, as we strive to support greater financial, educational, social and health equality for the people of Frome and surrounding areas.”
“Over the last couple of years our services have expanded significantly, as we’ve seen a steep rise in the levels of support people need. The pandemic was the start of this, but more recently the cost of living crisis and fuel poverty mean more people need to access our services. The support from Frome Medical Practice has come at a really crucial time and we are looking forward to working with the team over the next couple of years for the benefit of the wider community.”
